Code 2-"Zurück in die Zukunft"-Box ohne Audio-Kommentar

Die Code 2-Box von "Zurück in die Zukunft" wird im Vergleich zur erst im Dezember geplanten US-Box über keinen Audio-Kommentar mit Michael J. Fox verfügen. Ansonsten sollen die Boxen laut Universal identisch sein. Es wird zumindest die Möglichkeit gegeben werden, den Audio-Kommentar über das Internet anhören zu können. Dieser nur wenig zufriedenstellende Kompromiss wird teilweise damit begründet, dass der Audio-Kommentar nicht rechtzeitig für die Code 2-DVD produziert werden konnte. Das liegt natürlich auch daran, dass der Termin für die Code 2-Box bereits für den 26. September angesetzt wurde, um die DVD aus dem traditionell sehr titelstarken 4. Quartal herauszuhalten während die US-Box für den 17. Dezember mitten ins Weihnachtsgeschäft platziert wird. Weiterhin erfordern die deutsche Synchro und der zusätzliche DTS-Track Platz, der dann nicht mehr für den Kommentar vorhanden ist. Nachfolgend ist hier der Wortlaut, mit dem die internationale Zentrale von Universal Pictures Video den fehlenden Audio-Kommentar begründet:

* The ONLY item that differentiates the US and International disc is the Michael J Fox commentary.

* The Michael J Fox commentary will be made available to all territories separately as a marketing/publicity tool, so consumers will have
the chance to see it.

* Furthermore, it is hoped that we can set up a Total Access feature on the CD rom of BTTF, where consumers can click through to a website where they can access Michael J Fox's commentary

* The reason that the commentary could not be included on the disc was partly due to a timing issue, as the commentary could not be produced earlier.

* Furthermore, European release dates were set so that a very special title like BTTF could stand out, avoiding the clutter of a very busy Q4 - we wanted fans and collectors and new audiences to acknowledge that a very prestigious product was available.

* Secondly, the commentary was absent due to lack of space on the disc, as international versions need to include localised languages.

* Also, because Universal has put DTS on the international disc there was absolutely no further space on the disc for additional features
