Lucasfilm kündigt zweiten "Star Wars"-Spin Off-Film an
Lucasfilm und Disney haben den Startschuss für die Produktion des zweiten "Star Wars: Spin Off"-Films gegeben. Regie wird Josh Trank führen, der u.a. für "Chronicle" verantwortlich war und derzeit "The Fantastic Four" für Fox dreht. Die Spin Off-Filme werden parallel zu Episode VII-IX entstehen. Kürzlich wurde bereits "Godzilla"-Regisseur Gareth Edwards für den ersten Spin Off-Film verpflichtet, der voraussichtlich im Dezember 2016 in die Kinos kommen soll. Für den neuen "Star Wars"-Film von Josh Trank wurde noch kein Termin genannt. Er dürfte wahrscheinlich 2018 zwischen "Episode VIII" und "Episode IX" starten.

In addition to the episodes of a new Star Wars trilogy, Lucasfilm and Disney continue development of multiple stand-alone movies that will offer new stories beyond the core Saga. The newest director to come on board is Josh Trank.

Trank captured imaginations worldwide with his critically lauded directorial debut Chronicle, a fresh and engaging take on the superhero genre. Trank is currently at work on The Fantastic Four for 20th Century Fox.
