CES: Neuer "Laser TV" mit 100 Zoll-Bild von LG (Update)

LG stellt auf der CES einen neuen "Laser TV" vor, der über einen "Ultra Short Throw"-Projektor Full HD-Bilder auf einer Bildschirmfläche mit einer Diagonale von 100 Zoll erzeugt. Das entspricht einer Diagonale von 254 cm. Dazu reicht bereits ein Projektions-Abstand von 56 Zentimetern. In die Projektionseinheit sind 2 x 10 Watt-Lautsprecher und ein TV-Tuner integriert. Sie bietet auch die Features von LGs Smart TV-Plattform. Gesteuert wird das Gerät über LGs "Magic Remote". Für die drahtlose Verbindung sind WLAN und Intels WiDi integriert. Die quecksilberfreie Lichtquelle soll bis zu 25.000 Stunden halten.

Update: Inzwischen gibt es auch eine Ankündigung des Geräts für den deutschen Markt. Der Preis und Verkaufsstart für den "HECTO"-Laser-TV von LG sind aber noch offen.

Ratingen, 08. Januar 2013 – So nah war Kino noch nie: LG Electronics zeigt auf der heute in Las Vegas beginnenden Consumer Electronics Show (CES) einen 100-Inch Laser-TV, der sowohl über Smart TV- als auch Digital TV-Features verfügt. Die mit 2,54 Meter Bildschirmdiagonale bemessene Laser-Leinwand fungiert dabei als eindrucksvolles Heimkinosystem, das mit einer externen Ultra Short Throw (UST)-Projektionseinheit ausgestattet ist. Dies ermöglicht die Bilddarstellung auf extrem kurzer Distanz. Das einzigartige System bietet eine Full HD 1080p Auflösung mit hervorragenden Kontrastwerten durch fortschrittliche Lichtquellen auf Laser-Basis.

„Der 100-Inch Laser-TV von LG hebt die Projektionstechnologie auf ein neues Level. Es eignet sich sowohl für den Meetingraum als auch das Wohnzimmer“, so Michael Wilmes, PR Manager bei LG Electronics Deutschland. „Außerdem sind die Lichtquellen quecksilberfrei und haben eine extrem lange Lebensdauer.“

Brillantes Heimkinoerlebnis

Bisher war eine erhebliche Entfernung zwischen Projektor und Leinwand notwendig, um Bilder auf eine derart große Fläche wie den in der Diagonale 2,54 Meter großen Screen zu projizieren. Der benötigte Raum machte die Systeme ungeeignet für die Heimnutzung. Durch die externe UST-Projektionseinheit kann der Projektor jetzt nur etwas mehr als einen halben Meter (55 Zentimeter) entfernt von der Leinwand platziert werden. Das LG Laser-TV bietet eine Full HD Auslösung von 1080p und ein Kontrastverhältnis von 10.000.000:1 – für lebensechte und gestochen scharfe Bilder sowohl in dunklen als auch hellen Umgebungen.

Smart TV-Features

Das Laser-Display unterstützt LG’s Smart TV-Plattform – inklusive aller Features wie Smart World, LG Cloud, Magic Support - sowie die WiDi Technologie von Intel. Daneben haben Nutzer Zugang zu SNS-Plattformen wie Facebook oder Video on Demand-Services wie maxdome. Über die LG Cloud lassen sich private Inhalte wie Bilder, Videos und Musik verwalten.

Die LG Smart TV-Plattform bietet ein anpassbares Dashboard und intelligente Verbindungs-Features, mit denen kinderleicht auf Inhalte von Smartphones und mobilen Endgeräten oder aus dem Internet zugegriffen werden kann. Dank integriertem WiDi und WiFi lassen sich Inhalte kompatibler Geräte kabellos mit dem TV teilen. Besonders einfach wird die Navigation durch die LG Magic Remote, die vier Arten der Steuerung erlaubt – Stimme, Geste, Zeigen und Drehen/Neigen.

Heimkino-Design

Der LG Laser-TV verfügt über zwei integrierte 10 Watt-Lautsprecher für Surround Sound, um das Kino-Feeling im Wohnzimmer noch authentischer werden zu lassen. Das Gerät besticht durch das moderne Dynamic Arc Design – eine stilvoll geschwungene Oberfläche, die eine maximale Höhe von 14,5 Zentimetern erreicht. Die Leinwand selber passt sich durch ein dezentes Design jeder Inneneinrichtung hervorragend an.

Zuverlässig und umweltfreundlich

Die Laser-basierten Lichtquellen sind quecksilberfrei, und garantieren eine hochwertige Bildqualität. Die Laser sind dabei besonders langlebig: Sie halten 25.000 Stunden – das ist fünf Mal so lange wie quecksilberbasierte Lampen. Der Verzicht von Quecksilber ist nur eine von vielen Maßnahmen, die LG umsetzt, um seine Produkte umweltfreundlicher zu gestalten, ohne dabei jedoch an Qualität einzubüßen.

An impressive home cinema system, the 100-Inch Laser TV includes an immersive screen and an external Ultra Short Throw (UST) projection unit capable of displaying images at extremely short distances. Brilliant Home Theater Experience
The high-contrast images displayed on the 100-inch screen offer the closest sensation to a cinematic experience. In the past, considerable distance was needed to project such large images. The required space or “long throw” made projecting large images impractical at home. However, by utilizing UST projection unit. The device allows users to place the lens a mere 22 inches (approximately 56 centimeters) from the screen. LG’s Laser TV offers Full HD resolution at 1080p and 10,000,000 :1 dynamic contrast ratio, rendering vivid and crisp images that pop out in dark as well as lighter environments.
 
Smart TV Capabilities                                                
The Laser TV supports LG’s Smart TV platform, which includes all the impressive features from its premium models, including Smart World, LG Cloud, Magic Remote and support for Intel’s WiDi technology. The system also includes a digital TV tuner and consumers can just as easily access SNS platforms such as Facebook and VoD services like Netflix in LG’s Premium Content zone. It can also manage personal content, such as pictures, home videos and music libraries via LG Cloud.
 
LG’s Smart TV platform provides a customizable dashboard and smart connectivity features that streamline access to content from smartphones, laptops, storage devices and the internet. With built-in WiDi and Wi-Fi, content from any compatible external device can be wirelessly shared with the TV. Navigation of services and external devices via the dashboard is made easy with the Magic Remote which utilizes four modes of control – voice, gesture, pointand wheel.

LG’s Laser TV has two 10W built-in speakers embedded in the projection unit to support virtual surround sound for a more authentic cinema experience at home. The device itself features LG’s understated yet stylish Dynamic Arc Design, creating subtly curved surfaces that reach a mere 5.7 inches in height. The 100-inch screen adopts LG’s CINEMA SCREEN Design philosophy which makes it suitable for any interior décor.

The laser-based illumination system uses specialized lamps embedded in the projection unit, delivering superior picture quality while also eliminating the need for mercury. This system can run for 25,000 hours without replacement, five times longer than mercury-based lamps. Eliminating mercury is one way, among many others, that LG is working to make its operations more environmentally friendly, while providing the highest quality consumer electronics.
